The parking opposite the pub is by a public green, so all are welcome to park, even if not eating there. The walk is a little under 6 miles, a shortened version of the walk Susanne led five years ago, which was the Wheathampstead Heritage Trail 'Above the Lea Valley' walk. We'll go through Marshalls Heath, past Wheathampstead Church and back through Mid Herts Golf Course and Latimer Wood.
There are no stiles (there are some benches for resting, but not on the latter, uphill part of the walk!). At the start of the month the ground was dry for the whole walk, but unfortunately the excellent bluebells in Latimer Wood were already past their best.
The Cross Keys is expecting us at about 1:00, and hasn't asked for exact numbers or orders before setting off.
